My Ikea Bjursta table cost me $229 and it has some very obvious damages now. But I wish there was improved communication regarding these damages so that the client isn't blind-sided when they find these blemishes to their expensive furniture. A box I packed had some fragile items inside and I found damages on the exterior of the box from dropping them as well damage to my items inside such as my smart alarm clock which now has a crack on its screen and some frames with bent corners. For example, my bookshelf had various conspicuous chips on the corners. It's one thing if it was tiny scuffs, but another when it does cosmetic damage that needs to be fixed. After the move-in, I found a lot of pieces of damage that they did not report to me. I can understand some damage is expected, but I also expected some level of professionalism and communication when it comes to scuffs and damages when it occurs. I moved from a ground floor apartment to a 7th floor apartment with an elevator so a lot of furniture was being moved. I booked 3 hours with them from 3-6 and it ran over to roughly 6:15. Try to get an earlier move-in appointment if you can. They were hard-working people, but since I had afternoon appointment, I could tell they were already feeling somewhat exhausted from an earlier move. The two guys that came to move my stuff were extremely awesome personality-wise. Within a few days, I was refunded for part of the damages. I was reached out to by the Bellhops team for a damage claim quickly after the review and the entire process was streamlined.
